A Sonic CD picture of Little Planet, trapped in it's dark, steel cage. This scene really brings me back to my childhood.
Onto the deviation--Hey, it's like a "Where's Waldo?" picture! Can j00 find Sonic? :0000000000000?
Now I know what you're thinking. "WHERE'S MAH PICTURE, BEYOTCH." D:>
Sorry sorry sorry. Here's the story. My friend from high school is making a fan film about Batman, complete with a budget, cameras, sponsors, the works. Anyway, so she wants me to make a poster. I agree! So I get to work and I thought "Let's make a painting of Gotham City for it!" And I was about 1/4 of the way through and I sat there thinking. "This is a freaking poster..." And I just laughed to myself! NO ad poster should have to go through a De Vinci process, you know? Also, it had to be done pretty much in one night, and that was gonna be too much work. So I simplified it.
So there I was with a painting with pretty much NO theme. And I was listening to Sonic music....well you can all guess what happened then. Why not do a picture of Little Planet, encased in steel? A dramatic picture, with Sonic running up the chain, much like in the opening theme song....
Now here's what I'm thinking. Seeing's how I was able to pull this off, this opens up more doors for what I can do. I'm thinking my next big picture will be a painting like this as well.
So why the name? I was actually listening to the Japanese theme song for the Sonic CD game and part of the lyrics said "Destination Heaven!!" Since this is almost an ethereal type of painting, I thought it was a good name for it! The clouds I did myself, the steel on the metal ball was done with a technology/tank paintbrush set. I also used some space brushes for the sky. Everything else, I did on my own.
In conclusion, this picture ORIGINALLY was not going to be a deviation. But it is, so here you go. ^-^ I hope you all like!

Making this one was hard though X__x; the metal part I was thinking to myself like "Dear god this is insane." XD I didn't think I'd be able to make it. So that's why I was kind of worried. But I'm super stoked that you like the picture, it makes me feel good about it! ^0^
