Just a little sketch I did over the last little while. Nothing really big! x3;; Just about all of the pictures in my gallery are digital, so I thought some people would like to see how I flow when I sketch. And yes, It truly is messy. But a lot of sloppy sketches are!
Lina Inverse (and my pathetic attempt at drawing a fireball.) Some people would probably roll their eyes at me but The Slayers is an anime that I immensely enjoyed. Definitely one of my favorites. And Lina is one of my even more favorite anime characters.
And I'm a very picky person, I'm not very big on anime nowadays.
Hardest part was probably drawing her shoulder armor. The design is completely all over the map between the anime, the movies and the manga. Easiest part was probably the face.
Drawn on 30% post-fiber paper with mechanical pencil and eraser. Cleaned up and stylized on Photoshop CS2. Lina Inverse does not belong to me.
OMG, Slayers! 8DDDDD Even though it's quite old (since the first Manga is not avaiable in any store anymore in Germany *lacks the last volume*) I really enjoy it, too! I even bought two of the movies on the last convention. It's so darn funny and that series has so many enjoyable "WTF?!"-moments that I can't understand why people couldn't like it. xDD However~ I really think you did a nice sketch here. For a little something, it's gorgeous! Well done~ 8D

That's amazing! I watched the movies, read some of the manga, and saw a few discs of the anime here and there, and being a huge Megumi Hayashibara fan, Lina was of course, my favorite.
I can't get over how incredibly in style she looks! I mean, this is totally spot on! And no one's rolling their eyes at your fireballs. They, like the rest of this so-called sloppy sketch, are brilliant.
I have been dying to know how you manage to make your Line Art seem like a rainbow colour! Can you please tell me how you managed to do that? Plus! The sketch is awesome! The detail amazing. I seriously have a long, long, long road ahead of me.

When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
